I am pleased that you are taking the time to visit our website and hope you take advantage of the many parent and student resources available here. Our website is an excellent tool for communicating the various activities going on at PHS. Please check back often to keep abreast of all the great things our students are involved in. The 2011-2012 school year promises to be one of the most exciting ever for students and faculty alike. The Texas Education Agency will be implementing a new state assessment and accountability system - The State of Texas Assessments of Academic Readiness (STAAR) - beginning with this year’s incoming freshman class. This new system will challenge us to achieve higher levels of academic success and college readiness. In the time honored tradition and proud history of this high school, the Pewitt Brahmas accept these new challenges and are intensely committed to exceeding the new expectations. Our theme this year is Pulling Together: Teamwork-- students, parents, faculty, staff, and community. By pulling together, our standard of excellence will truly shine. John Murphy said the greatest accomplishments in life are not achieved by individuals alone, but by proactive people pulling together for a common good. Our mission in life is to offer our gifts to benefit one another, to create mutual gain in the world. This is called TEAMWORK. At PHS, we believe that nobody can get there unless everybody gets there! Educating our students is without question a partnership between the parents, community, and school district. We rely heavily on your support and encourage all members of our community to take part in this process. FAFSA Informational Meeting
February13, 2012 ♦ 6:00 - 7:30 pm
Any senior student who is planning on attending a two-year, four-year, vocational, or technical school upon graduation and their parents are encouraged to attend the FAFSA Informational Meeting. The purpose of this meeting is to provide pertinent information on federal grants, loans, and work-study programs that can help finance the student's college experience. A college financial aid representative will be presenting the information. It is imperative that you bring your 2011 income tax information to complete the form.
